Thanksgiving 2012

We have so much to be thankful for this year. Our sweet baby boy is just one of a million things!

We began the morning at my grandma's house. We enjoyed a yummy breakfast! There is just something about a grandma's cooking! Seriously, can I get an Amen.

Landry enjoyed getting to 'watch' the parade and hang out with family.

He is just too cute in his little Turkey onesie!

My Uncle Billy just loves Landry! It's so cute when he sees him. (PS- he's the reason I don't think Landry will be scared of Santa... doesn't Uncle Billy look like Santa without the hat?)

After breakfast we headed back to our house. My Aunt Sue was coming over with her daughter and grandkids. They went to the State Fair with us us so the kids were super excited to see Landry. My Aunt told me that Lily woke up and said "Is today the day we get to go to Landry's house?"

Landry was so interested in what Lily was saying.

Everyone took turns holding him. This is Lily.

Then Alex had a turn.

And then little Miss Blair. Her brother Blaine is too cool to hold him. ;)

How many people does it take to carve a turkey?

And what's Thanksgiving without a family photo session?

And not to be leftout Ashley's fiance Chad.

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope yours was equally great!

Telling the extended family

We were able to tell my extended family on Thanksgiving day.

My mom's side: We went to my grandma's house for breakfast and before we started eating we went around the room and said what we were thankful for. I was holding my cousin's 8 month old little girl, so when it came to my turn I said "I am thankful that next year I will have my very own little one. I am pregnant." It was really fun seeing everyone react.

My dad's side: Everyone came over to our house for the day. So I gave everyone the grand tour of the house. My aunt Sue kept asking "when are you going to fill this house with kids?" She ask about 3 times then I finally said "How bout July?" The entire room went silent. Aunt Sue said "What?!?!" So I repeated myself. She still didn't quite get it/believe it. So I said "I'M PREGNANT!!" She started screaming and so did my cousin. Then they both started crying. It was great! The rest of  my cousins that were there were boys, so they just congratulated me. I wasn't expecting to tell everyone that way, but it was set up so perfectly I couldn't resist!

Black Friday

I know I am crazy, but I love black Friday!! I am one of those insane people who sleeps in a tent over night to get a great deal on an item. This year it wasn't even for me, it was for my sister Emily. Autumn, Emily and I spent Thursday night in Best Buy's parking lots waiting to get a computer. We got it, so it was totally worth it!

Here are some pictures of us being crazy!

We may look warm and comfortable, but don't be fooled. While all of you were in your nice warm beds we were huddled together laying on concrete trying to stay warm.

We were doing it for fun, we chose to do it. There are so many people who don't have a choice, so many people who sleep on the street every night. This is just one more thing that I have to be thankful for, a warm bed. I challenge you this holiday season to count your blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving 2010

This year Joel and I had two Thanksgivings. We went over to my grandmothers house for Thanksgiving breakfast, and we went over to my Uncle Mike's for a late lunch. (Some how I managed to leave my camera in my purse for that one.

Joel and I have so much to be thankful for this year. We are truly blessed with the best families any one could ask for. And great friends! Here are some of the pictures from our fun day!

For breakfast we had sausage rolls. These are a tradition in my moms family, and it's one that I think I will keep around. (These are obviously uncooked)

Joel and I (we couldn't get Leo to look... he was distracted by my little cousin walking around)

My Uncle Billy, I swear he can sleep ANY where.

Leo's new best friend Zachary. They had so much fun following each other around.

At my Uncle Mike's we ate lots of yummy traditional thanksgiving food. Then my Aunt Sue had arranged for all of us to play BINGO! It was so much fun, and she even had prizes for all of us! She is so creative and always thinking of fun things for us to do as a family! Then we sat down to watch the Cowboys and Saints play. I left at half time to go get in line, so I missed the almost come back, but it was lots of fun!
