Let the MADNESS Begin

For the first time ever, I filled out a March Madness bracket! I am not a huge fan of basketball, but this year I thought why not. So Joel and I have a friendly wager going at home, I entered my office pool, and because I already had all of this on ESPN I am also doing a bracket with our ABF.

Go Kansas! Please don't let me down.

As of late

...I had a root canal
...Landry is teething (at least I think so)
...everything has become a drum to Landry
...our Christmas lights are still up on the house
...don't worry, we're not turning them on anymore
...Landry wore overalls for the first time! they are so cute! season ended horribly for me
...Landry is sitting on his own 85% of the time!
...I joined a garage sale site and now I am looking for anything in our house I can sell!
...Landry feeds himself his own bottle!
...I am going to be doing a giveaway next week (check back on Monday)
...our friend Samuel Cole will be here any day now!
...I stopped breastfeeding
...we're ready for baseball season. It's fine to skip basketball!

And because no post is complete without a picture

Team USA

I love the Olympics! I am so excited for the opening ceremony tonight! I am even more excited that I will be home on maternity leave to watch the Olympics with Landry. I have a feeling we will spend a lot of time on the couch watching sports the next two weeks!

Landry's First Rangers Game

In honor of Memorial Day, my dad (who was in the Air Force) was given 4 tickets to the Ranger game for Friday night. Sadly, he was unable to attend. So he gave them to Joel and I to enjoy. Joel wasn't able to go because of this. So I invited my Grandma, Uncle Mark and Great Aunt Mary to go with me. We had lots of fun, they are all huge Ranger fans. And it was a great game to attend because we won 14-3!!

Rough Rider Game

This past Friday we headed out to Frisco to catch a minor league baseball game with some couples from our ABF. Our seats allowed us to have access to the "grab-n-go" food. So we could get all the hot dogs, sausage, nachos and sodas we wanted.

*Please excuse the iPhone picture, I brought my camera, but forgot the memory card.

We were down 5-0 in the 8th inning so Joel put on his rally cap. We proceed to score one run and another in the 9th, but we still lost.

However, all was not lost because there was a fireworks show after the game!

It was a fun Friday night, but this momma to be was tired when we got home!

Texas Rangers

I am so excited to watch game 1 of the World Series. I heard this song on the radio this morning, so I thought I would share. They are making a video for it and as soon as they post it I will post it on here.

Catch Up

I have been MIA recently and that is because the following things have taken over my life...

I truly love sports, so don't think that Joel is forcing me to watch. I am just not one of those girls who can blog and watch the game at the same time. I enjoy watching the game too much. But in case you are wondering what we have been up to the last month please check out these links.

Ranger Game

Joel and I had the opportunity to go to the Ranger game tonight! My (great) Aunt Mary had 4 tickets so she took the two of us and my grandma with her to the game! With it being only weeks away from the playoffs, of course, I was excited. I would have been excited either way, but this was lots of fun. Thankfully the Rangers destroyed the Indians and are one step closer to the playoffs!

We were on the 3rd base line about 25 rows back! Great seats!

Thanks Aunt Mary for taking us with you, we had a great time!

First Party in the New House

Well it's football season, so we kicked off the season and our new home LSU style!

We spent the evening eating some great Jambalaya and hanging out! So much fun to be able to host my family at our house!! (still getting used to saying that)

My sisters bought us a welcome to your new home cake.

Great way to start off the season!

Mavs Fan For Life

It was so hard to concentrate on work today! Especially since I was right down the street from Love Field Airport where they flew in! I have been a Mavs fan for my entire life, although, I admit I don't like basketball very much. But last night was AMAZING to watch them win for the first time! Can't wait to go to the parade!!

Last night we went over to the Hutichson's house to watch the game. My favorite part of the night:

What a great game... and what I fun time with friends!

Wonderful Sunday!

What a great Sunday! Joel was actually off, so we were able to spend the whole day together. The day started off by attending church at The Heights. Our ABF talked about materialism, and I realized yesterday after breaking my phone how important possessions are to me. So this is definitely an area I will be working on as I move forward.

After church we went out to lunch to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We had a great lunch with my parents, siblings and grandparents.  Most of my Dad's presents had to do with the Texas Rangers.

After lunch we came home and watched the end of the Cowboy game (we had been watching it at the restaurant). We were both sad at how pitifully they played, so to cheer ourselves up we put in season 2 of 'The Big Bang Theory'. While watching the show we decided to carve our pumpkin that has been sitting on our table for over a week.

My husband does not like to get messy, so of course I did the dirty job.

This is a lot harder than it looks!

We had no clue what we were doing, but we had seen pictures online of what we wanted to do. And we didn't have any pumpkin carving tools, we only had what was in our kitchen. We thought that using a cheese grater would work, well DO NOT TRY IT!!! It doesn't work! Joel broke our cheese grater, but we got a really good laugh out of it.

Here is our finished product!  I think it turned out pretty good considering what we had to work with. (Last year we did a Dallas Cowboy pumpkin, so this year it was time to show the Rangers a little love)

And it looks really cute on our patio!

Like I said it was a great Sunday... I had almost forgotten what it was like to spend a weekend with my husband! Now we are going to finish the night watching the Rangers when game 4 of the World Series!!

LSU Football!

My sister Breanne attends Louisiana State University, so this weekend my sister Emily and I went to visit her.
Boy does the SEC have good football! And the south has good food (none of which was good for me). Here are some pictures from this weekend.

Verizon gave out these 'signs' for free!

They huddle together before the game starts, then they run off the field and come back when they are introduced.

This is the after pictures... we got sunburned, everywhere except where my sunglasses and tiger were. Made for an interesting face in the office today!
