Blogging Funk

In case you haven't noticed, I have been in a funk lately when it comes to blogging. I am determined to get some post written over the next few days because let's face it... I can not getting any further behind.

We have had lots going on in our house. The closet reveal is one of those things I need to post! But God has also been working on my heart and I want to share that with you as well.

So stay tuned!

Low Key Saturday

We had a great low key Saturday, it was just what we needed.

We started off the day with baby shower for my sweet friend Julie.

When I came home from the shower, Landry was still in his PJs (well half way) and this is where he was playing.

Oh the things that happen when daddy babysits. (Joel asked me to please note that he was sitting right next to him taking the pictures, so he was not being neglected.)

Then we came home and played and watched Monk on Netflix. Here's a video of Landry dancing to the theme song.

After Landry woke up from his afternoon nap, we took a family field trip to our new Kroger. I am so excited that they finally opened it up! And it's HUGE.

Blue Bell Ice Cream was on sale for $.88!! Heaven in a carton!!

They even have furniture in the store!

The steaks were on sale, per pound they were cheaper than the ground beef! We took them home marinated them and grilled them. While Landry played in the pool.

And on a side note, Landry loves to be outdoors, but hates to touch the grass!

After we put Landry to bed, we had a nice little date night in.

Perfect Saturday in my book!

FIVE on Friday

Linking up

1.With Landry's birthday a couple of weeks ago I have been looking back at pictures. I can't believe he's getting so big!

2. Since it's summer our back seat has been SOOOOOOOO hot! I feel terrible for Landry! He sweats so bad. I have been thinking about an SUV. I would love this one.

3. I'm hosting a baby shower tomorrow for a friend. I'm going to attempt to make these! YUM!

4. I can't wait for vacation in a few weeks.

Staph - The gift that keeps on giving

So awhile back in May, Joel was in the hospital for 5 days with a staph infection. You can read about it here. He got out of the hospital just in time for us to go on vacation.

Well, we got back and a week or two later Landry had an infection. He had a spot show up on his cheek and me being the paranoid mom that I am, posted a picture on facebook. With all the feedback I received we took him in that night. They drained it and gave us some cream to put on it. Since that event, he has had two more spots show up on his chin. Each time I have treated it with the leftover cream and it has gone away.

So it's only natural that I get one next... Mine is on/in my nose! Y'all it is painful! I feel bad now for being so unsympathetic towards Joel when he was in the hospital.

I have been on antibiotics for 36+ hours, but it is not getting better. I will likely be heading back to the doctor to have it looked at again. I am still holding out hope that it will miraculously heal and I won't have to go in tomorrow.

Prayers that this will go away soon.

If you have an iPhone you need to make sure you enable iCloud! On Saturday I dropped my phone. My screen didn't crack, but it did stop working! So I took my phone to the Apple store today, and they replaced my phone (it was still under warranty). I backed everything up on the computer before I left for the store, but I was still afraid I was going to loose all of my contacts. However, because I had iCloud activated on my phone they were able to recover everything!

Just go to your setting, hit iCloud and enable it! Seriously, do it now before you forget!

Who needs them anyway

I think I might be crazy... I started work this week, had my IUD inserted and had my wisdom teeth pulled. At least I am done for awhile!

The first day back at work was rough, not gonna lie I cried almost the entire way there. And anytime someone would come by to welcome me back and see how I was doing I would get teary eyed all over again. But it got a little easier each day... Don't get me wrong, I would rather be home with my little man than at work, but if I have to go back at least I have some of the best co-workers ever!

So I leave you with this...

Don't worry, it's gotten a lot better since this morning.

Random Post

These are just some random things that have happened that I wanted to share.

We got this super cute monogrammed hooded towel for Landry. After we washed it we were trying to figure out how to fold it when Joel decided it was too big for Landry. And to prove his point he tried it on.

This other picture I am in awe of. Normally when people show me a 3D picture of their baby I just think it looks creepy. So, if you have shown me one I apologize. Now that I have gotten a picture of Landry in 3D I totally get it!! This photo was taken at 35 weeks and I think Landry looks like Joel. I guess we will have to wait a few more weeks to be sure, but you can give me your opinion.

He is rubbing his eye with his fist over to the right, and the spot on his head above the other eye is part of me that they could get in the picture.

Tuesday Randomness

Warning this blog post is totally random!

  1. I bought shampoo in bulk and I am the only one who uses it, so its been around for several months... and I am tired of it!
  2. I think I want to adopt kids.
  3. Pottery Barn is expensive! I got a gift card from work at Christmas and just now was able to find something that I wanted. I still have $35 left on the GC so I guess I will be going back.
  4. I sent out our moving announcements! Look for yours in the mail (or ABF)
  6. I am going through baseball withdraws. Let the World Series begin! PS - Why is it called the World Series, yet baseball is America's sport.
  7. Our house still feels huge
  8. Mimi's test came back NEGATIVE. All of them! No radiation or chemo. PTL, to Him be all the glory.
  9. Looking forward to having people over this weekend for game night and taco salad.
  10. Traffic on 75 sucks! I was stuck in it for 45 minutes today (I know that is not THAT bad, but it is too me)
Ok, that all for today. Hope you enjoyed reading the things that go on in my head!
