Getting used to things

It has been almost 3 months since Joel has had weekends off, and I am still not used to it. Every Monday when I drive to work I thank God for allowing me to spend time with my husband. I am so thankful that we get to see each other on a regular basis. We have gone from being roommates to being husband and wife again! I hope I never take these weekends together for granted!

So what have we been doing with these days that we didn't have before?

Well, this past Saturday after running around trying to get Joel's phone fixed we stopped by the Lamborghini dealership. If you know my husband at all you know he has a passion for cars. I just enjoyed watching his face light up as he got to sit in them (someone left them unlocked, so you're not supposed to be allowed to do this... we got VERY lucky)

I joke that when we win the lottery he can buy one, but we don't play the lotto so chances of that are 0! Maybe someday he will have one... either way its nice to dream!

Do you see how happy he is?

Anyways, on a different note today was my one year anniversary at my job. I am so blessed to have a job I love and to work with great people for a great company! They gave me this pin to congratulate me.

Count your blessings, I know I sure am!

Celebrating 4 years

Today Joel and I celebrated 4 years of marriage. We got ourselves a new computer as a gift to each other. Not really because we wanted, but because our old computer quit working. (We had decided not to get each other a gift this year).

That night we went to dinner at Red Lobster. I know we're big spenders right?!?! Ha! But we both love it... in fact it is Joel's favorite restaurant. It was a great date! We got to talk about what the future holds as far as when we are going to buy a house, start a family, and all about his new job! Life is so good, and we are so blessed!

Happy Anniversary Joel

Four years ago today, I married my best friend!

I Corinthians 13:8-13

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I remember in middle school while at d-now we all prayed for our husbands. Back then I didn't know who he was or where he was, but I still prayed that someday he would find me. Again, when I was in high school we did a Bible study on the most important things in a husband. We started off the lesson by drawing a stick figure on the board and we all chose things that we wanted in a guy (ie: dark hair, tall, muscular, blue eyes, etc), but in the end the only thing that matters is that he loves God. That he puts God first in his life.

Well, in December of 2003, I met Joel!

I couldn't imagine life without him. He is truly the best husband I could have prayed for.

He is very patience with me, very kind, and most importantly he loves God with all of his heart.

Joel,

Thank you for always being there for me and loving me no matter what. I know life hasn't been easy lately, but it is about to get better! I am so proud of you! I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in the next 50+ years! I LOVE YOU!
