Day 2 of Country Fest!

So day 2 we learned our lesson and we drove most of the way to the concert and parked on the outside so we could get out easily and avoid traffic. It was a much better plan!

The day started with Lee Brice.

You have no idea how hot it was inside the stadium! I felt like I was getting sunburned, so here was my solution...

My sister's thought I was crazy, but I didn't get burned and that's the important part! I have to protect my skin, I don't want wrinkles!

Next was Jason Michel Carrol. I was surprised how much he talked about God.

The 3rd act for the day was Billy Currington. He literally looked like he rolled out of bed and got on stage to perform. I mean, he didn't even have shoes on!

If you ask me he should have been the second headliner.  It was time for another photo-op.

So funny story... after the lady took this picture I ask her to take another one and get less boob in the shot. This is what she took. ha!

Can you see the difference? How about more belly and the same amount of boob! ha! We laughed so hard!

The Zac Brown band was up next. They were good, but they just didn't have enough music that I knew. They played a lot of stuff with no singing at all, and after awhile it all starts to sounds the same.

The fiddle player was awesome! The headliner for the night was Kenny Chesney!! He is an amazing performer!!

Then the Zac Brown Band came out and played with Kenny and did a bunch of Kenny's songs, so that was really cool!

All in all we had a great weekend! Can't wait to go back again next year! I am really hoping Brad Paisley will be there!

2nd Annual Bayou Country Superfest

Last year for Memorial Day, my sister Breanne and I went to the first ever Bayou Country Fest! We had so much fun we went back this year and brought Emily along!

Breanne has been taking Summer classes, so she was already in Baton Rouge. That left Emily and I to road trip down there.

Look at how high the Mississippi River was!

We went and had Cane's for dinner! YUMMY so good!

Then it was girl time just hanging out.

On Saturday, we woke up and went to work out. It's a good thing we did too, cause we had Mexican food for lunch. Then we went and changed and headed to the concert.

At 3pm it was really hot outside (like 95 degrees! ugh). We walked to the concert, not a good idea... it was alot further than we thought.

Up first was Josh Thompson, but we missed him because we were still walking there. lol

Second, it was Luke Bryan. He sings 'Rain is a Good Thing'.

He is a cutie! After him was Trace Adkins... He was recently on the 'Apprentice'.

He is a big man!! In between acts we paused for a photo-op.

Then it was time for Sugarland! (And we finally got some shade as the sun was setting)

Singing along!

After Sugarland was TIM MCGRAW!

He was a lot skinnier in person than I thought he would be. Not an unhealthy skinny, but I guess I always just thought he was a big guy.

It was a great first day! Went home, ordered pizza and talked all about the show!

For those of you who don't know my dad graduated from college today! I am so incredibly proud of him! He has been working towards his degree for my entire life, but especially hard since I started college.

Us waiting for the ceremony to start

Left to right: Emily, Me, Breanne, and Autumn. Four BEAUTIFUL sisters if you ask me!

My dad walking in, this is where we all lost it.

Walking across the stage

SOOOOO Proud of him!

My wonderful parents, my mom has worked equally as hard for this since she took care of all of us while he was at school at night!

My dad being his goofy self!

After the graduation we all went over to Spring Creek Bar-b-que so the whole family could celebrate with him!

My Great-grandma and dad

At one point my two little cousins had their moms iPhones and were playing games. They were comparing games and helping each other. It was so cute. What did we do when we were kids?!?!

Rangers v Yankees

On Mother's Day Joel and I went to watch the Rangers v the Yankees. When we got there they were giving away visors. And then when we got to our seats we realized it was meet the players day. Sadly, we weren't there in time to actually go on the field and meet them, but we were still close enough to get a few pictures.

I don't know if you can tell, but that is Josh Hamilton in the blue cap.

Watching the guys warm up

I am wearing the visor that they passed out.

Sadly, the Yankees killed it and the Rangers lost 5-12. And I had to sit next to a Yankees fan (luckily he wasn't one of the obnoxious ones, if that's possible).

Better luck next time Rangers!

By the way we did go over to my parents house after the game and visit my mom.

Happy Mother's Day!

Joel and I are both blessed to have TERRIFIC moms! I can honestly say that if I am half the mom that my mom is, my kids will turn out just fine.

Thanks for all you did for us when we were little and for all the things you continue to do! We love you both very very much!
